On the afternoon of April 20, 2018, Zachary Albert Paikin was invited to the institute for human rights, China University of Political Science and Law. Zachary Albert Paikin gave a lecture entitled "Russia's turn to the east: its impact on the future of the world". Professor Zhang Wei, Co-director of the institute, warmly welcomed his arrival.

Mr. Zachary, who received his doctorate from Kent University, is now an assistant lecturer in international history and international relations at the University of Kent. Mr. Zachary is also the head of Web Project, Institute for 21 Century Questions, London, UK. Mr. Zachary is devoted to the study of Russia, so he is familiar with the history and development of Russian diplomacy, and he has a deep understanding of Russia's multilateral diplomacy.

In this lecture, Mr. Zachary talked about Russia's annexation of Crimea and the Ukraine crisis in 2014, and he gave a detailed introduction to the historical background of Russia's "pivot to the east" strategy. Mr. Zachary has presented his own unique insights into the international impact of the Russia-led Eurasian economic union and China's One Belt and One Road initiative.

In the lecture, the students raised many questions. The students and Mr. Zachary made in-depth discussions and exchanges on several issues raised by the students. These issues include the influencing factors of international relations, the status of human rights in international relations, the impact of China's "community of destiny" initiative, and the possibility of war between China and the United States.

Finally, Mr. Zachary took a group photo with classmates, and the lecture ended successfully.
