The lecture on Contemporary Chinese history and human rights was successfully concluded.

On the afternoon of April 13, 2018, Professor Renren GONG from Peking University was well welcomed by the Institute for Human Rights and gave a lecture named Contemporary Chinese history and human rights. The Co-Director of the Institute, Professor Wei ZHANG hosted the lecture.


First, Gong Renren professor mentioned human rights law is a broad range of interdisciplinary research, not limited in law ,but also based on its across history, philosophy, religion and other interdisciplinary study from different perspectives and research. Second, Professor Gong gave an introduction about the relationship between the Constitution of China and human rights from the perspective of history of China, and led participants explore the deep level reason for why the constitutional rights are hard for relief. In addition, professor Gong emphasized that mastering knowledge of political philosophy and further studying in human rights had a close relationship, and hope our students understand the political philosophy.


During the course of the lecture, all the students in this room listened carefully and took notes carefully. Critical thinking concerning human rights was then arisen because of the in-depth lecture, many students asked professor Gong positively for questions related to human rights, and professor Gong answered carefully and patiently.
