Professor Zhi Zhengfeng was invited to carry out lectures for students

On March 29, 2018, Professor Zhi Zhengfeng, researcher of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, deputy editor of Global Law Review, Doctoral tutor, was invited to visit the Institute for Human Rights of China University of Political Science and Law, and conduct a the wonderful lecture entitled "Why we need different opinions" for students. Professor Zhang Wei, Co-director of the Institute, warmly welcomed his arrival. Prof. Yang Qinhuo, Prof. Xu shuang, Prof. Sun Meng, Wang Liwan and Yang Bochao also attended the lecture.


In this lecture, the Professor Zhi Zhenfeng talk it from the social phenomenon of conformity, and talk it around the influence of the impact of the expression of opinion, the emergence of different opinions, supervision and the difference between dissenters and opponents and so on. He argued, people are accustomed to obeying other people's opinions and blindly following the crowd, but the herd may bring individuals and societies to the unfortunate and even disastrous direction. The danger is that the conformity of others can lead people can not to find out what people know or believe. People’s silence makes society lose its vital message. Therefore, we need different opinions to avoid manipulation or distortion of information.

          


After listening, students talked about how to regulate internet companies abusing of information in this age of great change, the company law response to such questions, and listened to the teacher's careful answer. Finally, the professor took a photo with everyone, the lecture was successfully ending.
