Seminar: On Acceptance of the 2nd Cycle of UPR - Human Rights Conditions in France (at the French Embassy in Beijing)

October 23rd, 2013 - first-year graduates from the Institute participated in the seminar“On Acceptance of the 2nd Cycle of UPR (Universal Periodic Review) - Human Rights Conditions in France", held at the French Embassy. 

Among the people present were Mr. Zimeray - the former French ambassador of Human Rights, Ms. Christine - Legal Council of the French embassy, Mr. Weifang He - Law School professor at Peking University, and many other established scholars, students and NGO representatives in the field from both China and France.

During the seminar, speakers discussed the effective measures France had taken and challenges it faced in the cause of human rights. It again, from the perspective of universal value, confirmed human rights and considered the promotion and protection of human rights as the responsibility of all countries. After knowing of the Institute’s research and practices, Mr. Zimeray encouraged the students to fear no difficulties and maintain their interests in human rights, so as to become promoters and pillars for the human rights cause.
