December 10th, 2013 - in room B205 of the Science and Study Office Building, the Institute for Human Rights held an academic seminar on the construction and reform of human rights to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Professor Luo Haocai, chairman of the China Society of Human Rights Studies, gave a speech on the "promotion and protection of human rights through the construction of the rule of law in China". Afterwards, several professors delivered keynote addresses on land reform, children's rights, the relationship between human rights and the internet, human rights education and other interrelated topics.
Professor Huang Jin, the president of the China University of Political Science and Law, made a concluding statement. He expressed his thanks to professor Luo Haocai for his support to the institute and college. Professor Huang Jin expressed the opinion that that the Institude should attach importance to the experts' recommendations, and that the judicial guarantee of human rights is the core of human rights protection. The majority of the CUPL staff and students of the Institute attended the meeting.
