Welcome to the new students of the Institute for Human Rights 2014

September 18, 2014 - the Institute for Human Rights held the Welcome Meeting for the new students of 2014. Huang Jin, President of CUPL, Wei Zhang, Co-Director of the Institute, other professors, administrative personnel and some senior students attended the meeting.


 

The meeting was divided into five parts. First, Professor Zhang made an opening speech as a representative of the professors. He mainly introduced the basic information about the Institute for Human Rights and suggested the students prepare for an interesting studying journey during their three -year master's education. 


 

After that, the new students introduced themselves. During each personal introduction, President Huang Jin kindly talked to every student, asking questions about their background and motivations.

 

During the third part the floor was given to the professors. Each of them introduced themselves, their work and main research fields. After that, the administrative personnel introduced their missions and main administrative tasks of the Institute.

 

In the fourth part the audience listened to the speech by Jiexin Ma, the 2013 senior student. She told the new students her experience during the first year of studying on the human rights programme, and how to sufficiently and efficiently make use of the abundant resources available to them at the university and some other organizations.

 

Last but not least, President Huang Jing gave suggestions to both new students and senior students. He said that it is important for students to improve their personal qualities with regard to the following four elements: research skills, moral quality, wisdom and simple-life attitude. He expressed the hope that all students will have a substantial and cheerful time at CUPL, and a successful life in the future.


 

The lecture ended with a warm and harmonious atmosphere.
