Teachers and Students from the Institute for Human Rights Attended the Seminar Named "Building A Community of Shared Future for Mankind and Global Human Rights Governance"

Sponsored by the China Society for Human Rights Studies and the Publicity Department of Tianjin, a seminar named "Building A Community of Shared Future for Mankind and Global Human Rights Governance" was held in Nankai University, Tianjin on June 8^th. Nearly 50 experts and scholars attended the seminar. Teachers and students from the Institute for Human Rights also attended.

Qiangba Puncog, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the Peoples’ Republic of China and Chairman of the China Society for Human Rights Studies attended the meeting and delivered a speech at the seminar. Xiao Huaiyuan, chairman of the Standing Committee of the Tianjin Municipal People's Congress also delivered a speech. Cui Yuying, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, vice minister of the State Council Information Office of the People’s Republic of China, and the vice president of China Society for Human Rights Studies, delivered a keynote speech named “Building A Community of Shared Future for Mankind and Global Human Rights Governance” in the seminar. In her speech, she gave her point of view that, human rights scholars should study the idea of building a community of shared future for mankind and promote its significance to human rights governance.

Focused on the topic of “Building A Community of Shared Future for Mankind and Global Human Rights Governance”, the seminar was divided into five parts, each with a specific issue named “Human Rights Implication of the Community of Shared Future for Mankind”, “Opportunities and Challenges for Building the Community of Shared Future for Mankind”, “the Community of Shared Future for Mankind and the Global Human Rights Governance”, “the Chinese Idea and Practice of Building A Community of Shared Future for Mankind” and “Building A Community of Shared Future for Mankind and the Realization of Human Rights in Different Countries”.

In the second part of the seminar which entitled “Opportunities and Challenges for Building the Community of Shared Future for Mankind”, Professor Zhang Wei, Co-director of the Institute for Human Rights gave a speech named “Building A Community of Shared Future of Mankind with the Core Values of Respecting and Protecting Human Rights”.

In the final part of the seminar which entitled “Building A Community of Shared Future for Mankind and the Realization of Human Rights in Different Countries”, Associate Professor Sun Meng gave a speech named “2030 sustainable development agenda and the Human Rights Protection”.

After the summary speeches, the seminar then ended successfully.
