March 15, 2017-On the occasion of the 2017 Dutch Parliamentary elections and as part of the celebration of the establishment of diplomatic relations at ambassadorial level between the Netherlands and the People’s Republic of China 45 years ago, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands organized a Dutch Elections event. Prof. Wei ZHANG, Associated Professor, Co-director of the Institute and ten students on human rights attended the event.

This election event has four main steps. After the registration, Mr. André Driessen, the Deputy counsellor of the Netherlands, gave the welcoming speech and introduced Professor Monique Leyenaar of Radboud University of Nijmegen to explain the Dutch elections to the participants. Then there was a Q&A, and finally had a visit to the voting station.

This event took about 3 hours and all of the participants learned a lot from it. Thanks so much for having this valuable chance to have an inside glimpse of the Dutch elections.
