Refugee Law Course Series

On April 17, 2014, Mr. Francis, representative of the UNHCR Regional Representation in China, gave a lecture to students on his refugee work experience. This lecture was the final lesson of the Refugee Law Course Series.
Francis talked to the students about the number of people who becaome refugees because of wars, ethnic conflicts, natural disasters, religious believes. He emphasized that the human rights of these gorups of people should be respected and protected. Over the years, Mr. Francis has worked in the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Africa and South-East Asia.
During an open discussion with the studnets, Mr. Francis shared his experinece as a refugee worker and the many difficulties he had to encounter, ranging from personal safety to psychological condition.
