The 2017 graduate students meeting of the institute for human rights was held successfully


 

On September 22,2017, the new graduate students meeting of the Institute for human rights was held successfully at graduate school in China University of Political Science and Law. Professor Fan Chongyi, professor Qi Yanping, Prof. Ban Wenzhan and all of the fellow teachers, the first-year Master Students, Ph.D. students and other grades attended the meeting. Professor Zhang Wei, Co-director of the Institute chaired the meeting.

 

Firstly, Professor Zhang Wei gave a brief introduction of the Institute and the professors who attended the meeting. Furthermore, the 2017 Master Students and Ph.D. students respectively made brief self-introduction.

 

Secondly, Professor Fan Chongyi presented that he hopes the new students could be able to switch roles as soon as possible and adapt to the life of postgraduate.What is more, Professor Ban Wenzhan pointed out the direction for the study and life of the new graduate students from four aspects: how to study at college, how to keep ambitious, how to do great things, and how to be a good man. Besides, Professor Yang Qinhuo addressed that new students should re-examine themselves in the process of learning and construct their own ideological system.

 

Thirdly, Professor Qi Yanping explained that how to write a good article and narrated the core elements of writing from the perspectives of human rights law. Then associate professor Yuan Gang put forward some requirements to the graduate students. Associate professor Liu Xiaonan also represented to students on how to take the time, read more books and practice more writing skills. And doctoral Wang LiWan gave some advice to the Ph.D. students and the Master students from personal experience. In the end, Professor Zhang Wei made a summary statement. He concluded the development history of the Institute for human rights and the development direction of human rights in the future.

 

Lastly, the students had in-depth exchanges with teachers on the topics of selecting tutors, research directions, writing methods and some writing issues. The attendees took photos at the close of the meeting.
