In 1978, he was admitted to the Law Department of Jilin University and obtained a bachelor's and master's degree in law.
In 1999, he received his Juris Doctor degree from Wuhan University.
From 1988 to 1989, 1997 and 1998, he went to Japan and the United States for further study.
