Hua Lin

Lin Hua, a professor and doctoral supervisor at China University of Political Science and Law, where he serves as the vice dean of the Human Rights Institute. He has been selected for the National High-level Talent Special Support Program (Young Top-notch Talent), the Beijing High-level Talent Program (Young Elite Scholar), and was named a Qian Duansheng Young Scholar at China University of Political Science and Law. He holds the positions of executive director at the Research Base for Immigration Governance and Rule of Law under the National Immigration Administration, executive director of the Internet and Legal Regulation Research Center at China University of Political Science and Law, and deputy director of the Education Law Research Center. Professor Lin obtained his LL.B., LL.M., and Ph.D. degrees from China University of Political Science and Law, completed postdoctoral research at the Institute of Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and was a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law.

Professor Lin has published three academic monographs and contributed to more than ten edited volumes. He has authored over fifty research papers and translations published in authoritative and core journals including China Legal Science, Journal of Library Science in China, Educational Research, and Tribune of Political Science and Law. Many of his articles have been fully reprinted or excerpted in Xinhua Digest, Higher Education Social Science Academic Digest, and Constitutional Law & Administrative Law by Renmin University. He has also published commentaries in newspapers including People's Daily, Rule of Law Daily, and Study Times. Professor Lin has led research projects funded by the National Social Science Fund, National High-end Think Tank, Beijing Social Science Fund, as well as projects commissioned by the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Finance and other ministries. He has participated in over thirty national and ministerial-level research projects and contributed to the drafting and revision of laws and regulations including the Degree Law and Regulations on Human Genetic Resources. His policy advisory reports have received instructions from national leaders. His honors include the Fourth Ying Songnian Outstanding Achievement Award in Administrative Law, and his courses were selected among the first batch of National Online Demonstration Courses for Juris Master programs. Professor Lin serves as a council member of the Dong Biwu Legal Thought Research Association, Administrative Law Research Association, and Cyber and Information Law Research Association under the China Law Society. He acts as a legal advisor or expert consultant to several ministries including the Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Science and Technology, and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. He is also an expert advisor to the Legal Services Volunteer Committee of the China Volunteers Association and serves as a legal advisor to the Wenzhou Municipal People's Government.
