The 15th China University of Political Science and Law Human Rights Summer School, "Theory and Practice of Human Rights," was Successfully Held.

On June 30, 2025, the opening ceremony of the 15th China University of Political Science and Law Summer School on Human Rights, titled "The Theory and Practice of Human Rights," was held in Beijing, organized by the Institute for Human Rights (Institute for Contemporary Rule of Law). Over 130 teachers and students from more than 50 universities and research institutions across the country participated. The ceremony was presided over by Lin Hua, the executive vice dean. President Ma Huaide attended and delivered a speech, emphasizing that the university is committed to promoting the construction of a Chinese-characteristic legal system, and the Institute of Human Rights should continuously enhance its political stance and fulfill its three major missions of human rights education and training, theoretical research, and international exchanges. He pointed out that human rights education is about value shaping and personality cultivation, and the summer school is a high-level practice of human rights education. He hoped that the participants would broaden their global perspectives and become legal talents with a global vision and a Chinese stance. He also hoped that the participants would take this opportunity to conduct academic exchanges and promote the construction of the human rights discipline. Xu Xianming, the chairperson of the Teaching Steering Committee of Law-related Disciplines of the Ministry of Education, gave the first lecture, elaborating in depth on human rights-related issues, which aroused a warm response from the participants. Since its establishment in 2009, the summer school has been successfully held for 14 sessions and has become one of the important brand projects of human rights education in China. This session will last for six days and will offer various courses around the theme to promote the popularization of human rights concepts and enhance the ability of human rights research and practice.
