Registration Notice for the 15th CUPL Human Rights Summer Course "Theory and Practice of Human Rights"

In order to promote human rights education and theoretical research, popularize human rights knowledge, disseminate human rights concepts, advance the construction of human rights disciplines, and cultivate a large number of high-quality legal talents who are both morally and intellectually competent and proficient in both morality and law, the Institute for Human Rights and Humanitarian Law of China University of Political Science and Law (the predecessor of the Institute for Human Rights) initiated the establishment of a public welfare human rights summer course in 2009. The Human Rights Summer Course invites renowned experts and scholars from home and abroad to give lectures. So far, it has been successfully held for fourteen sessions, benefiting nearly a thousand teachers and students from universities at home and abroad, and has had a wide social and academic impact both at home and abroad. The 15th Human Rights Summer Course "Theory and Practice of Human Rights", hosted by the Institute of Human Rights of China University of Political Science and Law, will be held in Beijing from June 30th to July 5th, 2025.

This course is rich in content, covering cutting-edge and hot issues in the field of human rights such as basic human rights theories, human rights protection in legal norms, UN human rights mechanisms, global governance and human rights protection, network data security, and public interest litigation by procuratorial organs, as well as how to use artificial intelligence technology to conduct legal learning and legal research. The instructors come from renowned scholars of domestic and foreign universities, practical leaders of relevant ministries and commissions, as well as senior experts from the offices of international organizations in China, fully demonstrating the combination of domestic and international, theory and practice, and law and non-law. The teaching is mainly in Chinese, with a few courses in English. After the course is completed, our college will issue a certificate of completion to the participants. All teachers and students are welcome to actively sign up and participate.

. Application Requirements:

Full-time undergraduate, master's and doctoral students, no major restrictions; Young scholars who are interested in the theme of this summer course.

. Registration Time:

June 9th - June 20th.

. Registration Method:

Download and fill in the Application form for the 15th Summer Program on Human Rights at China University of Political Science and Law. Please send the completed application form to hra_cupl@163.com

. Class Location:

China University of Political Science and Law (Haidian Campus). Teachers and students from other universities are required to bring their ID cards when entering the campus.

. Teaching Time:

From June 30th to July 5th, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

. Admission Notice:

Our college will inform the applicants of the application results by email before June 22, 2025. Teachers and students who have been selected to participate in the summer course are requested to attend the entire training. In case of special circumstances, please go through the leave application procedures.

. Costs:

The summer course is free of tuition and material fees. Our college provides lunch for students during the class. Other accommodation, meals and transportation expenses of the trainees are to be borne by themselves.
