Development provides the impetus, foundation and resources for human rights protection, while human rights provide the purpose, principles, standards and monitoring framework for development, said Sun Meng, a professor from the Institute for Human Rights of China University of Political Science and Law. In the past decade, China has made new achievements in pursuing sustainable development and human rights protection simultaneously.
