On May 26, 2025, the inaugural China University of Political Science and Law Human Rights Forum, hosted by our institute, was successfully convened at the university's Haidian Campus. Centered on the theme "Human Rights Due Diligence: Practices in Europe and Africa," the forum brought together faculty and students from over ten institutions including Peking University, Renmin University of China, Beijing Institute of Technology, and University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Professor Tom Zwart from Utrecht University School of Law (Netherlands), Professor Serges Kamga, Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of the Free State (South Africa), and Dr. Congrui Qiao, Director of the Dutch think tank "Law4Sustainability," served as keynote speakers. They shared perspectives on human rights due diligence—particularly concerning Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations—from European and African viewpoints. Associate Professor Yingxiang Tang, Deputy Director of the Human Rights Research Center at Nankai University Law School, and Professor Meng Sun from our institute acted as discussants, with the forum moderated by Lecturer Wenyao Wu.
