On the afternoon of April 2, 2025, the editorial department of the Chinese Journal of Human Rights held its first meeting of the year at the Chenggong Road Campus of China University of Political Science and Law. Attendees included Lin Hua, Vice Dean and Chief Editor of the Chinese Journal of Human Rights at the Institute for Human Rights (Institute for Contemporary Rule of Law), along with members of the editorial team. The meeting was chaired by Lin Hua.

Wang Liwan, Deputy Chief Editor, first introduced the Optimization and Adjustment Plan for Editorial Processes (Draft for Solicitation of Opinions), outlining proposed improvements in team optimization, review workflow adjustments, and strengthened manuscript solicitation efforts.

Lin Hua further elaborated on adjustments to the journal’s editorial direction, upgrades to column structures, comprehensive implementation of a new manuscript management system, refinement of editorial policies, and expansion of promotional channels. He emphasized that streamlining editorial processes would not only maximize the engagement of editorial board members but also reduce their workload, thereby advancing the journal’s high-quality development.

Deputy Chief Editor Lin Jianjun and editorial team members actively contributed insights during the meeting. They engaged in in-depth discussions and offered suggestions on topics such as review workflows, article selection criteria, and editorial procedures, drawing from their personal experiences in manuscript submission and peer review.

The editorial meeting fostered collective wisdom, built consensus, and maintained a harmonious atmosphere. It laid a solid foundation for developing an "author/reader-friendly" journal, promoting international academic exchange in human rights, and enhancing the discourse power and global influence of Chinese human rights scholarship.
