On March 19, 2025, the Student Party Branch of the Institute for Human Rights at China University of Political Science and Law conducted a Party Day activity themed "Consumer Rights Protection: Law Nourishes the People’s Hearts" in the Mingguang Beili Community, Haidian District, Beijing. This event marked the fifth installment of the branch’s "Human Rights Education Popularization" series. Through legal lectures and case analyses, Party members enhanced the awareness of consumer rights protection among community residents, particularly the elderly, contributing to the creation of a secure and trustworthy consumption environment.

The event commenced with a presentation by student Party member Li Gaoxiang, who elaborated on the nine fundamental rights granted to consumers under the Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Protection of Consumer Rights and Interests, including the right to safety, the right to be informed, and the right to choose. Li then systematically outlined offline and online consumer complaint channels, including the National 12315 Platform, the Black Cat Complaints Platform, and the 12315 hotline.

During the case study segment, student Party member Ma Yangyang exposed "unfair clauses" in consumer contracts through real-life scenarios. Given the community’s large elderly population, Ma focused on high-risk traps targeting "silver-haired consumers". She also emphasized fraud prevention by analyzing financial scam cases as a conclusion.
